In ISB’s third decade of excellence, the school aims to bring world-class education to learners beyond its two campuses through ISB Online. ISB recognises that the rapidly changing business landscape requires young leaders who understand developing economies and present a global perspective. Identifying Gaps in a Typical Learner Journey
The development of ISB Online began with an in-depth analysis of the typical learner journey, which revealed that diverse learners have unique learning goals and requirements. We identified common gaps in the learning experience, such as the need for flexibility in learning hours, creating a distraction-free environment, and enabling peer learning to flow naturally. While several traditional and modern platforms address some of these challenges, we recognise the need for a comprehensive educational experience that empowers learners.
Designing a Research-Backed Curriculum
The ISB Online curriculum brings together the expertise of ISB’s faculty and research-backed pedagogy. The programme journey ensures that learners imbibe concepts in the proper academic sequence. It helps learners connect each topic with their overarching goals. With a focus on retention, the experience includes byte-sized videos, knowledge check questions, quizzes, and case-based social learning activities. Learners can access the curated course takeaways and learnings throughout their professional journey.
Creating the Platform
The platform design of ISB Online is based on the science of learning. ISB studied the learning journeys across multiple Learning Management Systems, audit-learner feedback, and agile development. The platform is designed to be intuitive, easy to navigate and immersive. It brings in peer learning through a 2-D metaverse built on the iconic ISB campus, allowing learners to collaborate and learn from each other and experts. The learning journey also involves a gamified learning experience with a point-based system for all learning elements and an interactive dashboard.
